Toolbox 4

We’d had this old file cabinet lying around for years. It’s followed us from several homes. It was a bit rusty and had something gross and sticky all over it. It cleaned up nicely after a scrub and sand. The carcass is spray painted green, with some fun colours for the draws. Dark green for the handles and accessories.

Again, hubby and I teamed up. I  rough drew the box with the removable boxes inside and he did the magic…and the work.

While it’s green for now, it’s already marked, so I’ll be repainting and varnishing it. Along with the inner boxes. Will add photo’s later.

Tool box 2 –

Hubby made a small  lockable bathroom cabinet years ago. It became redundant, so I decided to re-purpose it. We removed the hardware, used wood filler to smooth things out.  Once sanded I had fun spray painting the lid and feet, brush painting the rest. I used door knobs for feet. Bought new prettier hinges. It’s imperfect, simple, but I love it.

Tool Box 3 –

My old, much loved, sewing box. It had a tall handle over the top -I asked hubby to saw the top part in half and then I used those parts for handles on the ends. Also cut down the legs, to be much shorter. He added a tiny wooden piece to a broken lid. I bought two lid hinges, to protect it from further damage.

Then of course I had fun with colour. Spray and brush painting. So thrilled to be in love with this box again.
